Best Right Hook Knockout?

Best Knockouts – Benitez Ices Hope With A Killer Right Hook!

Short and sweet this clip, but one of the best knockouts you’ll see!  The 1981 Junior Middleweight world championship title fight between the champion Maurice Hope and the challenger the mercurial, sublime and brilliant Wilfred Benitez.  Benitez was famed for his purist boxing skill, becoming the youngest world champion ever at the age of 17 (this record stands to this day.)  In this bout Wilfred shows his knockout capability!  Benitez stalks his prey, backs Hope to the ropes, feints the jab, steps in and unleashes a short range right hook that lands with earth-shattering power.  As they say, the referee might have counted to 100 and Maurice would still not have regained his feet!  Is this the best knockout with a right hook that you’re likely to see?  The KO comes at about 9.06 and there are some slow motion replays afterwards that are worth a look.  Let me know with a comment below!

Cheers
