Boxing Techniques – Lomachenko Slips & Diagonals

The most effective boxing techniques are the ones that are simple. The key is to execute the boxing techniques exceptionally well. 90% of the boxing techniques used by the very best boxers are simple, they are just executed with perfection.

This video covers one of the boxing techniques used by the Ukrainian superstar Vasyl Lomachenko.

Vasyl Lomachenko – Slips and Diagonals

The first time I saw Lomachenko was in the amateurs around 2009. I was amazed. He did everything. From a technical point of view he was one of the finest boxers I had ever seen. What particularly struck me, and what struck me about many of the Eastern European boxers, was the boxing style and the boxing techniques he used were text book in the execution.

In this video I show you how to merge two boxing techniques – the slip and diagonal movement.

This is all about transfer of effective rotation and excellent transfer of weight.

Work through with discipline and control – slow is smooth and smooth is fast. As with all boxing techniques, this can be instilled to become an automatic response to a situation.

Cheers

Fran

    Fran, nice combinations as always.
By the way, do you have a link about jabbing then bob and weave? Cross and bob and weave?
    Thx Fran

Thanks Henry – not specifically…but always a good idea to jab and slip/duck…will see about doing something on rolling at long range.

Nice video Fran. After executing the slip could you add a roll with the diagonal movement out? Or would this not actually add anything to your defence? Thanks in advance.

Would definitely add something Frankie – takes your head off the centre line making you even more difficult to hit.
