Dubois vs Usyk Low Blow – Pointless Video

This feels like the most pointless video I’ve posted on YouTube since I first started back in 2010. Dubois vs Usyk – was it a low punch? Was it a ‘robbery’? Is there even any point asking? I hope to answer these questions and others, and then I can get on with producing other videos that are actually helpful.

Dubois vs Usyk Low Blow

Daniel Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk met for the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO Heavyweight titles on 26th August in Wroclaw, Poland.

The bout was kind of as you would expect. Dubois did OK, but Usyk was pretty much in charge from the start and throughout, winning via a 9th round knockout.

In the 5th round though there was a ‘low blow’ incident, with Usyk hitting the deck and taking 4 minutes or so recovery time as offered by the referee.

No count was issued. No warning was issued.

The shot was low – the whole glove landed on the shorts, for me that’s low.

To my mind it was not an intentional low blow, but it was definitely low.

I mean, what else is there to say? I’m not even sure why there is a controversy here…so can we now move on please?

Would love to hear your thoughts…

Otherwise, here’s some cool Usyk stuff:
